Southwest Third Street Traffic Pattern Change Beginning Monday, April 21

Eastbound Southwest Third Street Open; Westbound Southwest Third Street Closed

Southwest Third Street Traffic Pattern Change Beginning Monday, April 21

Beginning Monday, April 21, the section of Southwest Third Street between Southwest Blue Parkway and Southwest Jefferson Street will be open to one-way eastbound only thru traffic and will be closed to westbound traffic until approximately November 2025. The detour route for westbound Southwest Third Street traffic is Southwest Jefferson Street, Southwest Second Street, and Southwest Blue Parkway. This traffic pattern change is necessary as part of the Third Street improvements project.

The phase one traffic plan will close the westbound and center lanes of Southwest Third Street between Southwest Blue Parkway and Southwest Jefferson Street until approximately late July 2025, while the eastbound lane will remain open to one-way thru traffic. In approximately late July 2025, the phase two traffic pattern will begin which will also maintain one-way eastbound only thru traffic; however, traffic will shift to the north side of Southwest Thid Street so construction can continue on the south side of Southwest Third Street until approximately November 2025. All schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

Another band of moderate snow is expected this evening around 6 p.m. Temperatures are expected to drop and accumulating snow of a dusting to one inch is likely. A crew will report tonight for the overnight shift, and snow operations are likely to conclude Friday morning. The City will...
