Southwest Third Street Traffic Pattern Change Beginning Tuesday, July 15

Southwest Third Street Traffic Pattern Change Beginning Tuesday, July 15

Beginning Tuesday, July 15, eastbound traffic on Southwest Third Street will shift to the center lane between Southwest Walnut and Southwest Jefferson Streets until approximately September 1, 2025. This traffic pattern change is necessary as part of the Third Street improvements project and will allow the contractor to begin phase two work between Southwest Walnut and Southwest Jefferson Streets. With this change, Southwest Walnut Street, Southwest Highland Street, Southwest Lakeview Boulevard and Southwest Madison Street will be closed to traffic entering Southwest Third Street from the south. Southwest Noel Street and Southwest Lakewood Boulevard will continue to be closed to traffic entering Southwest Third Street from the north; however, Southwest Madison Street will be open to traffic entering Southwest Third Street from the north.

On approximately September 1, 2025, the phase two traffic pattern will begin which will also maintain one-way eastbound only thru traffic; however, traffic will shift to the north side of Southwest Thid Street so construction can continue on the south side of Southwest Third Street until approximately November 2025. The section of Southwest Third Street between Southwest Blue Parkway and Southwest Jefferson Street will continue to be closed to westbound traffic until November 2025. The detour route for westbound Southwest Third Street traffic is Southwest Jefferson Street, Southwest Second Street, and Southwest Blue Parkway.

All schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.
