Daily closures for a section of Southeast Douglas Street between Southeast Sixth and Seventh streets began Wednesday, Dec. 11, and will last for approximately two to three weeks. This section will close daily beginning at 7 a.m. and will reopen by 5:30 p.m.

The City’s crews continue to treat roadways today, Saturday, Nov. 30 after a heavy band of snow pushed through the area later this morning leaving heavier snow on the north side of the City and a trace on the south side. Crews will work north to south to treat roadways covered in snow. Pavement temperatures are expected to be above freezing through the remainder of the day helping to melt any accumulated snow on the roadways. 

The City has a crew scheduled to report at 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 to monitor conditions and treat roadways and bridges throughout the morning into the afternoon as needed due to the potential for a dusting to one inch of snow. Pavement temperatures should be above freezing in the afternoon and limit accumulation. Drivers should be cautious, especially on elevated bridges and overpasses.

The City of Lee’s Summit has established an inclement winter weather route through the Clarkson Construction property north of Northwest Quarry Park Road. This route is necessary due to the upcoming winter weather season and the continued closure of Northwest Quarry Park Road west of Northwest Pryor Road. A section of Northwest Falk Drive between Northwest Village Drive and Northwest Ward Road closed today, Tuesday, November, 19, and will remain closed until the afternoon on Friday, November 22. The closure is necessary for the replacement of rusted corrugated metal storm pipe that is causing sinkholes in the road. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.
