Section of Southwest Sampson Road Set to Close Wednesday, March 19

A section of Southwest Sampson Road between Southwest Scherer and Southwest Hook roads is set to close to thru traffic on Wednesday, March 19, and will remain closed until approximately mid-October 2025, for two phases of the Sampson Road Stormwater Improvements project.

Phase one includes culvert work just south of Southwest Scherer Road, and is expected to last until approximately the end of May 2025. The detour route includes Southwest Scherer Road, Southwest Ward Road, and Southwest Hook Road. All schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

Phase two includes bridge replacement over Mouse Creek, and is expected to begin in mid-May and last until mid-October. Southwest Sampson Road between Southwest Scherer and Southwest Hook roads will remain closed to thru traffic during this work. A phase two closure map will be provided closer to the start date.

The Sampson Road Stormwater Improvements project will construct a bridge to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, restore and stabilize the natural stream channel, open the floodway to reduce backwater flooding upstream, install stormwater best management practices (BMPs),  and construct a Mouse Creek Trail crossing for the Parks Department to support the Greenway Master Plan.

City Crews Set to Continue Plowing and Treating Residential Streets

The City's crews are set to continue plowing and treating residential streets today, Wednesday, Jan. 8, and overnight into Thursday, Jan. 9. Crews are 47% complete with residential streets, and 71% complete overall. Snow and ice will remain packed to pavements due to cold temperatures, but sunshine should help with melting. Crews are expected to continue working on clean up on Friday, Jan. 10.

The City’s crews plowed and treated residential streets today, Tuesday, Jan. 7, and are set to continue plowing and treating residential streets overnight into Wednesday, Jan. 8. Crews are 21% complete with residential streets, and 56% complete overall.  Parked vehicles on streets are slowing progress. Residents can help the snow control process by moving vehicles and other obstructions from streets.

The City’s crews are plowing and treating residential streets today, Tuesday, January 7. Crews are 100% complete with primary and secondary streets, and approximately 7% complete with residential. Overall as of 7 a.m. this morning, crews were 48% complete with snow operations. Crews will be working around the clock today and into tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8, to plow and treat all residential streets.

City Crews Plowing and Treating Secondary Streets Tonight, Monday, January 6

The City's crews are plowing and treating secondary streets tonight, Monday, January 6, and are currently 54% complete. Primary streets are 100% complete. Work began on some residential streets today but will intensify tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 7. Overall, crews are 37% complete. Crews are scheduled to continue plowing and treating streets through Wednesday.

Crews were finishing up a primary route this morning and working in secondary streets. Ice and snow will remain packed to pavements even after being plowing and treated.
