Night Work Scheduled July 19-24 for Pavement Management Programs

The City’s mill and overlay and surface seal programs both have night work scheduled July 19-24, to minimize disruptions to traffic on major roads. Night work will generally take place beginning at 8 p.m. at night and will continue overnight until 7 a.m. the next morning, from Sunday night, July 19, through Friday morning, July 24. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

Mill and overlay work will take place on NW Pryor Road between NW Chipman Road and NW Summit Woods Crossing, on NW Chipman Road between NW Pryor Road and NW Jacobs Drive, and on NE Pavestone Drive. Surface Seal will take place on NE Douglas/NW Lee’s Summit Road between NW Colbern Road and City limits, on NW Murray Road between NW Longview Road and NW Chipman Road, and on SW 3rd Street between SW View High Drive and SW Pryor Road.

These roads will not be fully closed, but drivers may experience delays.

Streets may become slick due to pavement temperatures being below freezing. Drivers should use caution during the morning commute, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. Pavement temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by mid-morning Wednesday.
