City Crews Plowing and Treating Residential Streets Today, Tuesday, Dec. 2

The City’s crews are plowing and treating residential streets today, Tuesday, Dec. 2. Overnight they completed secondary streets, and made another pass on primary streets due to refreezing and slickness. Crews will continue working on residential streets until all are plowed and treated.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures are helping with melting; however, a refreeze is likely overnight due to falling temperatures. Drivers should use caution overnight and during the morning commute on Wednesday, Dec. 3, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

A section of Southwest Market Street between Southwest First and Second streets is closed. Length of closure is unknown at this time but currently permitted through Nov. 8. The detour route is Southeast Ashton Drive, Southeast Shenandoah Drive, and Southeast Cumberland Drive. The closure is necessary for sanitary sewer replacement.
