The City’s crews are plowing and treating streets today, Wednesday, February 19. Crews completed primary streets, are finishing up secondary streets, and will be moving into residential streets later this morning. Extremely cold temperatures are limiting the effectiveness of salt treatments, and streets will remain packed with snow even after being plowed and treated.

The City of Lee’s Summit is hosting a public meeting from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, in the Strother Conference Room at City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Lee’s Summit, Mo., to discuss infrastructure improvements for the Ward Road corridor from O’Brien to Chipman roads. The meeting will allow the public to view preliminary plans and exhibits, review tentative schedules for right-of-way acquisition and construction, and provide feedback.

Crews will focus on primary streets overnight into tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18, while snow is falling. The bulk of accumulating snow is expected to fall during the day Tuesday, and 4-8 inches is possible.
