City Crews Preparing for Snow Mon., Nov. 14, and Overnight Into Tues., Nov. 15

The City’s crews are preparing equipment and pre-treating hot spot areas such as major intersections and bridges with rock salt today, Mon. Nov. 14, in anticipation of snow later tonight and overnight into Tues., Nov. 15. Crews are currently on standby and will be called in as necessary overnight based on the forecast and conditions.

Precipitation is expected to start as light rain changing over to snow. Pavement temperatures will hover around freezing, and most of the snow will melt on pavement as it falls; however, brief periods of moderate to heavy snow may overwhelm pavements with slushy accumulations. A dusting to one inch of snow is possible. Drivers should use caution overnight and during the Tuesday morning commute, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and update its response accordingly.
