Section of SW Murray Road Set to Close Nov. 14

Section of SW Murray Road Set to Close Nov. 14

A section of SW Murray Road near SW 1st Street is set to close on Monday, Nov. 14, and will remain closed until the evening of Friday, Nov. 18, weather permitting. The road closure is necessary to perform water main replacement work as part of the FY22 Water Main Rehabilitation project. The detour route is SW 3rd Street and Oldham Parkway. 

The FY22 Water Main Rehabilitation project helps with continued efforts to maintain and strengthen the water distribution system. For more information about the work or the project, contact the City’s Public Works Department at publicworks@cityofls.net or 816-969-1800.

Section of NE Scruggs Road Set to Close Jan. 17

A section of NE Scruggs Road from NE Todd George Road to NE Bristol Drive is set to close to through traffic on Tuesday, January 17, and will remain closed for approximately six weeks, weather permitting. The road closure is necessary so a contractor for Lee’s Summit Water Utilities can repair the lining of two force mains under Scruggs Road from the Scruggs Road Pump Station. The City has a small crew scheduled to report at 7 p.m. tonight, Sun., Dec. 25, to monitor conditions and treat streets with salt as needed due to the potential for a wintry mix including freezing drizzle/ice. It is expected to be a fast moving storm. Drivers should use caution tonight and overnight into Mon., Dec. 26, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. The City will continue to monitor the weather and update its response accordingly.
