Section of SW 3rd Street Set to Close to Through Traffic Oct. 10

Section of SW 3rd Street Set to Close to Through Traffic Oct. 10

Update 2/28/23: Both eastbound and westbound lanes of SW 3rd Street from SW Blue Parkway to SW Jefferson Street are now open to through traffic. Utility work continues primarily in the center/middle lane as the crew is still proofing the pipe and pulling cables through the duct bank. This work is anticipated to be complete in two weeks, weather permitting.

A section of SW 3rd Street from SW Blue Parkway to SW Jefferson Street is set to close to through traffic beginning Mon., Oct. 10, 2022, through February 2023. Eastbound SW 3rd Street traffic will be detoured to SW Blue Parkway and westbound SW 3rd Street traffic will be detoured to SW 2nd Street. Local access will be maintained for SW 3rd Street business and property owners. All work is weather permitting and is subject to change.

This private utility work is necessary so an AT&T contractor can move a large duct bank prior to the construction of the 3rd Street Improvements Project - Blue Parkway to Jefferson Street, which is expected to start in early 2024. For more information, contact the City’s Public Works Department at publicworks@cityofls.net or 816-969-1800.
