Southwest Raintree Parkway Spillway Bridge Set to Close Monday, August 25

Update as of 12/5/25: The Southwest Raintree Parkway spillway bridge is now open. The sidewalk remains closed and some lane drops are possible through next week. The contractor expects all work to be completed by the end of next week.

The Southwest Raintree Parkway spillway bridge is set to close on Monday, Aug. 25, and will remain closed for approximately four months. Southwest Raintree Parkway will be closed between Southwest Tiller Court and Southwest Green Teal. Drivers will need to use an alternate route.

This project will repair the roadway bridge deck, and structural supports, for the segment of Southwest Raintree Parkway that passes over the spillway on the Raintree Lake Dam.

The City’s crews are set to continue plowing and treating streets today, Sunday, Jan. 25. Overnight crews plowed and treated primary streets, and are currently plowing and treating secondary streets. Some drifting occurred, and primary streets are being checked and may need re-plowed. The City’s crews finished pre-treating streets last night before the snow started, and they are plowing and treating primary streets while snow is falling this morning Saturday, Jan. 24. If snow remains light, they will move into secondary streets. More snow is expected throughout the day today and overnight into Sunday, Jan. 25. Crews will continue plowing and treating streets. The City of Lee’s Summit has established an inclement winter weather route through the Clarkson Construction property north of Northwest Quarry Park Road.  Due to the forecasted snow Saturday, City’s crews will open the inclement winter weather route through the Clarkson Construction property and close the access to Noland Road Friday 1/23/26.
