Section of SW Murray Road Set to Close to Through Traffic on Oct. 3

A section of SW Murray Road from SW 3rd Street to SW Longview Road is set to close to through traffic on Tuesday, Oct. 3, and will remain closed for approximately thirty days, weather permitting. There will be a hard closure of SW Murray Road from SW 3rd Street to SW 5th Street. The detour route for this closure is SW Pryor Road, SW Longview Road and SW Ward Road. 

The closure is necessary for sanitary sewer work associated with the McClendon Ditch project, which will provide sanitary sewer upgrades to the interceptor within the Cedar Creek watershed that serves the internal core of the city. The improvements will increase the conveyance of the sewer to meet current and future needs. The City’s crews are set to continue plowing and treating streets today, Sunday, Jan. 25. Overnight crews plowed and treated primary streets, and are currently plowing and treating secondary streets. Some drifting occurred, and primary streets are being checked and may need re-plowed. Crews Plowing and Treating Streets Today, Saturday, Jan. 24

The City’s crews finished pre-treating streets last night before the snow started, and they are plowing and treating primary streets while snow is falling this morning Saturday, Jan. 24. If snow remains light, they will move into secondary streets. More snow is expected throughout the day today and overnight into Sunday, Jan. 25. Crews will continue plowing and treating streets. The City of Lee’s Summit has established an inclement winter weather route through the Clarkson Construction property north of Northwest Quarry Park Road.  Due to the forecasted snow Saturday, City’s crews will open the inclement winter weather route through the Clarkson Construction property and close the access to Noland Road Friday 1/23/26.
