Section of SW Jefferson Street Also Closed for SW 3rd Street Utility Work

Update: Phase two of the SW 3rd Street utility work is now expected to start on Mon., Oct. 17, with the closure of both eastbound and westbound through traffic on SW 3rd Street from SW Blue Parkway to SW Jefferson Street. The section of SW Jefferson Street from SW 3rd Street to SW 2nd Street is expected to be back open by noon on Mon., Oct. 17.

During phase one of the utility work on SW 3rd Street which started today, a section of SW Jefferson Street from SW 3rd Street to SW 2nd Street is also closed to through traffic due to work in the SW 3rd and SW Jefferson streets intersection. This closure is expected to last for approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Westbound SW 3rd Street traffic should detour north on SW Market Street to SW 2nd Street, or south on SW Jefferson Street to SW Blue Parkway. Eastbound SW 3rd Street traffic will technically be allowed through the intersection during this timeframe; however, this is only for phase one of the utility work.

Beginning approximately Oct. 24, SW 3rd Street from SW Blue Parkway to SW Jefferson Street will be closed to both eastbound and westbound through traffic. Detour routes are SW 2nd Street and SW Blue Parkway. Local access on SW 3rd Street will be maintained at all times.

The City’s crews are treating streets today, Tuesday, Jan. 16. Crews will continue working until all primary, secondary and residential streets have been treated.
