Section of SW 3rd Street Set to Close to Through Traffic Oct. 10

Update 2/28/23: Both eastbound and westbound lanes of SW 3^rd Street from SW Blue Parkway to SW Jefferson Street are now open to through traffic. Utility work continues primarily in the center/middle lane as the crew is still proofing the pipe and pulling cables through the duct bank. This work is anticipated to be complete in two weeks, weather permitting.

A section of SW 3^rd Street from SW Blue Parkway to SW Jefferson Street is set to close to through traffic beginning Mon., Oct. 10, 2022, through February 2023. Eastbound SW 3^rd Street traffic will be detoured to SW Blue Parkway and westbound SW 3^rd Street traffic will be detoured to SW 2nd Street. Local access will be maintained for SW 3rd Street business and property owners. All work is weather permitting and is subject to change.

This private utility work is necessary so an AT&T contractor can move a large duct bank prior to the construction of the 3rd Street Improvements Project - Blue Parkway to Jefferson Street, which is expected to start in early 2024. Section of Northeast Hagan Road Set to Close Monday, July 14

A section of Northeast Hagan Road between Northeast Strother Road and Northeast Jones Industrial Drive is set to close Monday, July 14, for utility work. Evergy is placing power across Hagan, and work is permitted until August 22. The detour route includes Northeast Strother Road, Northeast Independence Avenue, and Northeast Jones Industrial Drive. All work is weather permitting and subject to change.

Southwest Third Street Traffic Pattern Change Beginning Tuesday, July 15

Beginning Tuesday, July 15, eastbound traffic on Southwest Third Street will shift to the center lane between Southwest Walnut and Southwest Jefferson Streets until approximately September 1, 2025. This traffic pattern change is necessary as part of the Third Street improvements project and will allow the contractor to begin phase two work between Southwest Walnut and Southwest Jefferson Streets. Public Invited to Southeast Douglas Street Improvements Public Meeting
