The City’s crews have been plowing and treating streets today, Thursday, Feb. 17, and will continue tonight and overnight into Friday, Feb. 18. Crews are nearly complete with primary streets, and will be moving into secondary streets soon. Crews expect to begin residential streets by 7 a.m. Friday, and will continue plowing and treating until completed. Sun and warming temperatures are expected Friday and into the weekend.

Crews completed pretreating streets overnight, and are currently working in primary streets and some secondary streets as snow continues to fall. The Lee’s Summit area is expected to receive 6-10 inches of snow. The City’s crews pretreated residential streets today, Wed., Feb. 16, ahead of a winter storm set to impact the area on Thurs., Feb. 17. Crews are scheduled to begin working again at 7 p.m. this evening, and will start pretreating primary and secondary streets depending on conditions. The storm is expected to begin as rain on Wednesday evening, which may impact pretreatment, and will eventually transition to freezing rain/ice, sleet and snow early Thursday...
