Sections of Southeast Douglas and Southeast First Streets Set to Close Daily Beginning Monday, October 27

Sections of Southeast Douglas and Southeast First streets are set to close daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, October 27, for utility work at the intersection. Work is permitted through November 7. The hard closures are on the south side of the intersection in the southbound lane of Southeast Douglas Street, and in the eastbound lane of Southeast First Street on either side of its intersection with Southeast Douglas Street. Southbound Southeast Douglas Street will be closed to thru traffic between Southeast First and Southeast Second streets. Eastbound Southeast First Street will be closed to thru traffic between Southeast Main and Southeast Green streets.  The detour route includes Southeast First Street, Southeast Main Street, Southeast Second Street, and Southeast Green Street. All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

City Crews Pre-Treating Streets Tonight, Thursday, Jan. 11

The City’s crews are pre-treating streets with salt tonight, Thursday, Jan. 11, in advance of another round of winter weather. Temperatures may fall below freezing earlier than previously expected, and will stay there. Crews may need to treat primary streets again as temperatures drop and streets get slick. Drivers should use caution especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.
