City Crews Plowing and Treating Streets Tonight and Overnight into Tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 2

The City’s crews plowed and treated streets throughout the day today, Monday, Dec. 1, and will continue tonight and overnight into tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 2. Crews plowed and treated primary streets today, and crews will continue working to complete secondary streets and then will move into residential streets. It can take crews 24-48 hours to plow and treat all streets after accumulating snow has ended.

As temperatures drop overnight, streets are expected to refreeze and become slick. Drivers should use caution especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

Residents can help by moving cars, trash cans, and other obstruction from streets. Crews cannot plow if streets or cul-de-sacs are too congested, and they will move on to finish their routes and attempt to return after all other streets are completed. Crews thank you for your help and patience.

City Crews Preparing for Winter Storm this Weekend

The City’s crews pre-treated streets with salt during the day today, Thursday, Jan. 22, and will continue pre-treating streets during the day tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 23, ahead of a significant winter storm forecast for this weekend. A section of Northeast Ball Drive just south of Northeast Colbern Road was closed for the day on Saturday, Jan. 17, and then extended until Friday, January 30. The detour route includes Northeast Rice Road, Northeast Mulberry Street, Northeast Todd George Parkway, and Northeast Colbern Road. A contractor will be doing utility work at this location.

A section of Southeast Fifth Street between Southeast Onyx Drive and Southeast Battery Drive is set to close Friday, January 16, at approximately 9 a.m. and will remain closed until the end of February. The detour route includes Southeast Onyx Drive, Southeast Third Street, and Southeast Battery Drive.
