City Crews Plowing Streets Today, Thurs., Dec. 22

The City’s crews are plowing streets today, Thurs., Dec. 22, and will continue plowing tonight and overnight into tomorrow, Fri., Dec. 23. Crews are completing primary streets and then will move into secondary streets, and expect to continue plowing secondary and residential streets overnight into Friday. No additional precipitation is predicted at this time and crews expect it may take 32.5 hours to plow all streets in the City after accumulating snow ended; however, there is still an opportunity for blowing snow tonight and tomorrow which could slow progress.  No salt treatments will be applied tonight or tomorrow due to extremely low temperatures, which limit the effectiveness of salt. Snow will remain packed to streets and they will be slick. Drivers should use caution especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.
