A utility contractor will be installing a gas main as well as abandoning a portion, and work is permitted through the end of November. The utility contractor will be closing the southernmost portion of Southwest Fourth Street between Southwest Jefferson and Southwest Market streets and splitting traffic in the remaining lanes, as well as closing the alley on the south side of Southwest Fourth Street. The hard closure will be between 1707 and 1725 Northeast Rice Road. The detour route includes Northeast Mulberry Avenue, Northeast Independence Avenue, and Northeast Colbern Road.
