City Crews Preparing for Chance of Snow Thurs., Jan. 12

The City’s crews are preparing for a quick moving storm with a chance of snow which is expected to arrive in the early morning hours on Thurs., Jan. 12. A small crew will report at 3 a.m. on Thursday to treat streets with salt as needed. Pavement temperatures are expected to remain at or near freezing which may cause slushy conditions. Drivers should use caution during the Thursday morning commute, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and will update its response as needed.

A section of Northeast Hagan Road between Northeast Strother Road and Northeast Jones Industrial Drive will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this week. The detour route includes Northeast Jones Industrial Drive, Northeast Independence Avenue, and Northeast Strother Road.

A section of Southeast Browning Street between Southeast Eighth Street and Southeast Blue Parkway is set to close on Monday, Jan. 19, for approximately two weeks. The hard closure is between Southeast Ninth Street and Southeast Blue Parkway. The detour route includes Southeast Douglas Street, Southeast Seventh Street, Southeast Green Street, and Southeast Eighth Street.

A section of Southeast Flagstone Drive between Southeast Todd George Parkway and Southeast Annette Street is set to close daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Jan. 12, through Friday, Jan. 23 (extended from Jan. 19). The detour route includes Southeast Greystone Drive, Southeast Third Street, Southeast Flagstone Drive, Southeast Lana Street and Southeast Fifth Street.
