City Crews Set to Continue Plowing Overnight into Monday, Jan. 6

The City’s crews are continuing to plow primary streets tonight, and will continue overnight into Monday, Jan. 6. Conditions are hazardous, and high snowfall rates and winds have been covering streets that have already been plowed. After midnight, the snow and wind will decrease and crews expect to begin plowing and treating all streets. Crews should be working in secondary and residential streets tomorrow, and are scheduled to continue working until Wednesday, Jan. 8.

It may take more than 48 hours after snow and winds end for crews to plow and treat all streets in the City. Ice and snow will remain packed to pavements even after being plowed and treated. Due to the heavy snowfall, large windrows at intersections, sidewalk ramps, and driveways are expected after plowing. To minimize this issue at driveways, shoveled snow should be deposited on the downstream side of the driveway.
