City Crews Set to Continue Plowing and Treating Streets Today, Sunday, Jan. 25

The City’s crews are set to continue plowing and treating streets today, Sunday, Jan. 25. Overnight crews plowed and treated primary streets, and are currently plowing and treating secondary streets. Some drifting occurred, and primary streets are being checked and may need re-plowed. Once secondary streets are complete, and any primary streets that need re-plowed are complete, crews will move into residential streets.

Extremely cold temperatures limit the effectiveness of salt treatments, and snow will remain packed to pavements even after being plowed and treated. Streets will become slushy as sunshine and warming temperatures melt packed snow and ice.

Residents are urged not to park on streets and cul-de-sacs if possible. Drivers cannot plow if streets or cul-de-sacs are too congested, and they will move on to finish their routes and attempt to return after all other streets are completed. Crews thank you for your help and patience.
