Surface seal operations in Lee’s Summit are expected to begin on Friday, June 6, and will last for approximately one month, weather permitting. A section of southbound Northeast Douglas Street between Northeast Orchard and Northeast Elm streets is set to close on Tuesday, June 3. Work is permitted through Wednesday, June 4. Detour routes include Northeast Orchard Street, Northeast Green Street, and Northeast Maple Street, or Northeast Orchard Street, Northeast Main Street, and Northeast Maple Street.

Update 6/18/25: The Maybrook Rd Bridge is now open.
A section of Northeast Maybrook Road between Northeast Anderson Drive and Northeast Saint Andrews Circle is closed for emergency repairs to the wooden bridge. The duration of the closure is unknown at this time. Traffic is encouraged to use Northeast Anderson Drive as a detour route.

 

A section of eastbound Southwest Second Street between Southwest Jefferson and Southwest Market streets is set to close on Monday, May 19, and will remain closed for approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Westbound Southwest Second Street will remain open. READ MORE -->

 

Update 10/21/25: Southwest Sampson Road is now open. Bridge replacement over Mouse Creek on Southwest Sampson Road between Southwest Scherer and Southwest Hook roads is set to begin on Wednesday, May 14, and will last until approximately mid-October 2025. Southwest Sampson Road between Southwest Scherer and Southwest Hook roads will remain closed to thru traffic during this phase two work as part of the Sampson Road Stormwater Improvements project. READ MORE...
