City Crews Preparing for Winter Storm
The City’s crews are preparing for a major winter storm which is expected to start on Saturday, Jan. 4, and will continue overnight into Sunday, Jan. 5. Ice, sleet, heavy snow, high winds, and low temperatures are all expected with this storm.

Green Street Project Update: SE Green Street Entrance into City Hall Now Open
The Southeast Green Street entrance into the Lee’s Summit City Hall parking lot and garage is now open.
Work on the Green Street project continues, and Southeast Third Street between Southeast Douglas Street and Southeast Grand Avenue remains closed to thru traffic.

Daily Closures of Section of Southeast Douglas Street Began Wednesday, Dec. 11
Update 2/25/25: Construction has resumed between 5th and 6th Streets. Daily closures will occur for approximately two weeks.
Daily closures for a section of Southeast Douglas Street between Southeast Sixth and Seventh streets began Wednesday, Dec. 11, and will last for approximately two to three weeks. This section will close daily beginning at 7 a.m. and will reopen by 5:30 p.m.

City Crews Continue to Treat Roadways Today, Nov. 30
The City’s crews continue to treat roadways today, Saturday, Nov. 30 after a heavy band of snow pushed through the area later this morning leaving heavier snow on the north side of the City and a trace on the south side. Crews will work north to south to treat roadways covered in snow. Pavement temperatures are expected to be above freezing through the remainder of the day helping to melt any accumulated snow on the roadways.

City Crews Scheduled to Treat Streets as Needed
The City has a crew scheduled to report at 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 to monitor conditions and treat roadways and bridges throughout the morning into the afternoon as needed due to the potential for a dusting to one inch of snow. Pavement temperatures should be above freezing in the afternoon and limit accumulation. Drivers should be cautious, especially on elevated bridges and overpasses.
