LSFD is Hiring Dispatchers

The City of Lee’s Summit Fire Department is looking for highly motivated applicants to fill current openings and create a hiring list for the position of Fire and EMS Emergency Dispatcher. This is a non-sworn position, officially titled Communications Specialist. The role involves working in a 24/7 communications center responsible for dispatching fire and medical services.

As a dispatcher for the Lee's Summit Fire Department, you will also have the opportunity to dispatch for six other area agencies, including the Fort Osage Fire Protection District, Inter City Fire Protection District, Lone Jack Fire Protection District, Southern Jackson County Fire Protection District, Sni Valley Fire Protection District, and the Sugar Creek, MO Fire Department.

We are also in the process of constructing a brand new, state-of-the-art Communications Center, which will be operational by the summer of 2026. This is an exciting time to join the City of Lee's Summit as a dispatcher.
