Green Street Project Update: SE Green Street Entrance into City Hall Now Open

The Southeast Green Street entrance into the Lee’s Summit City Hall parking lot and garage is now open.

Work on the Green Street project continues, and Southeast Third Street between Southeast Douglas Street and Southeast Grand Avenue remains closed to thru traffic.

Updates to estimated reopening dates are as follows:

  • Southeast Third Street from the alley by City Hall through the Southeast Green Street intersection is expected to open in early January 2025.
  • Southeast Third Street from Southeast Green Street through the Southeast Johnson Street intersection is expected to open in late February 2025.

All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

The City’s crews plowed and treated streets throughout the day today, Monday, Dec. 1, and will continue tonight and overnight into tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 2. Crews plowed and treated primary streets today, and crews will continue working to complete secondary streets and then will move into residential streets. It can take crews 24-48 hours to plow and treat all streets after accumulating snow has ended.
