First Responders Sensory-Friendly Event

The 2nd Annual First Responders Sensory-Friendly Event is Saturday, April 18, and we are excited to welcome families from across the community.

This event is designed to provide a calm, inclusive environment where individuals with sensory sensitivities can safely explore first-responder vehicles, meet officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel, and learn about their work—without crowds, bright lights, or loud sirens.

Our goal is to make emergency services more comfortable and familiar for everyone.

Date: April 18, 2026
Location: LSFD Station No. 4 (5031 NE Lakewood Way)
Time: 3 time slots; 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m.

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO— On Wednesday, September 28 at 11:00 AM., the City of Lee's Summit will test ALL Outdoor Warning Sirens and the Voice Message System to evaluate recent upgrades, weather permitting.
