Landfill, Yard Waste & HHW

Update: Effective March 24, 2020, until April 24, 2020

The Resource Recovery Park remains open to the public for waste and yard waste disposal, as well as drop-off recycling, during regular business hours; however, the following are temporarily suspended and are currently expected to resume after the stay-at-home order expires:

  • Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
  • Mattress Recycling (still available for disposal)
  • Electronics Recycling (still available for disposal)

The City's public disposal area (PDA), household hazardous waste and yard waste facilities are located at the Resource Recovery Park (RRP), 2101 SE Hamblen Road (64082). See map.

Expanded Appointment Times for HHW Disposal

Household hazardous waste (HHW) can be disposed of between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Thursday - Saturday by appointment only. To make an appointment call 816.550.1612. Visit LSPDA.com for requirements, limits and materials accepted. There is no fee for Lee's Summit residents.
