Apartment Building Damaged by Fire

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — The Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Strasbourg Apartments, located at 3 NW O'Brien Road, on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 6:33 p.m. A resident reported smoke filling their ground-floor apartment but no visible flames. A neighboring occupant noted a "pop" sound and the power going out before smelling smoke. The callers evacuated the building. When firefighters arrived, nothing was visible from the outside of the three-story garden apartment. Inside, smoke alarms were sounding, and light smoke was present. Firefighters located the fire burning in the wall separating the two ground-floor apartments, as well as in the ceiling and utility spaces of the floor above. Joint Operations Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

The public is invited to the groundbreaking ceremony for the Joint Operations Facility!

Location: 2 NE Tudor Road (behind Police Headquarters)

This facility is made possible through the 2023 No Tax Increase Bond in partnership with the state of Missouri. It will serve as the future home of Fire Administration and Training, as well as the City's Emergency Operations and Communications Centers.
