Sidewalk Maintenance

Sidewalks along public street right-of-way generally are maintained by the City of Lee's Summit Public Works Department. Sidewalks along private roads or alleys, are the property owner's responsibility. This often is the case in subdivisions with homeowners associations. If you are unsure of the owner of any sidewalk, please contact the Public Works Department.

What is the orange panel on the sidewalk ramp to the street?

The orange panel on the sidewalk ramp to the street is called a truncated dome panel. This panel is a system of textured ground surface indicators to assist blind and vision impaired pedestrians.
