What is the Unified Development Ordinance?
The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), which includes zoning and subdivision platting regulations, regulates and controls the development and use of land to promote public safety, health and the general welfare of the community.
Unified Development Ordinance
UDO was adopted in 2001 and went into effect on November 1, 2001. It has been amended numerous times since then in an effort to keep up with local and national trends, as well as to make corrections and make the regulations more clear. Articles (or chapters) that make up the UDO are shown at the above link, along with the date of the latest amendment to each article. Since UDO is a very lengthy document, each article is provided as a separate document, so you can view or print only the ones needed.
