Independence and Town Centre Intersection Improvements
Project Description:This project involves intersection reconfiguration at Independence Avenue and Town Centre Blvd. A complimentary project traffic signal was installed at Colbern and Town Centre along with turn lanes and a raised median on Colbern. The raised median will limit access to Independence from Colbern.
Project Rationale:
The intersection reconfiguration should direct the thru traffic to the proposed traffic signal at Town Centre Blvd and Colbern Road. A traffic signal at the intersection of Town Centre Blvd and Colbern Road, with turn lanes and access restrictions along Colbern Road at Independence, is warranted to increase safety and facilitate adjacent development.
Current Project Status:
Design is underway. The right-of-way and easement acquisition has been completed.
