Date/Time Change for City Council Meetings

Beginning on October 2, City Council meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings instead of Thursdays. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

Lee’s Summit City Hall is accepting Jackson County property and real estate tax bill payments as a convenience to taxpayers. Payments can be made in person from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Treasury office located in the lobby of City Hall, 220 SE Green Street. From December 27 – 29, the Treasury office will extend its business hours to 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. When paying a tax bill at the Treasury office, payees will receive a tax receipt immediately.

Taxpayers can also place tax bill payments in the City’s night drop box, available 24-hours, conveniently located outside the north entrance to City Hall. A check must be attached to the tax bill with a contact phone number. Tax receipts for payments received via the night drop will be mailed to payees.

For the last 35 years, Lee’s Summit City Hall has provided this service for taxpayers. Lee’s Summit will receive 1% of the tax dollars collected for acting as an agent for Jackson County.

The Treasury office can also assist taxpayers with an incorrect tax statement. To avoid long lines and delays in processing, please bring your incorrect statement to the Treasury office for correction prior to the last week of December.  Please note that titles, registrations or proof of sale documents are required for billing corrections.

Lee’s Summit City Hall parking is available on Green Street, in the parking garage at 2nd and Green Streets or in the lot on the north side of the building. The Treasury office is located on the first floor of City Hall, near the north entrance. Lee’s Summit City Hall will be closed for the holidays on December 25 and 26.

Payment is accepted by cash or check only made payable to Jackson County Collector.
