Keep Cool When It's Hot

Admission fees into Legacy Park, Gamber and Harris Park Community Centers will be reduced to half price on all days the National Weather Service issues Excessive Heat Warnings for the months June, July and August. During business hours, Mid-Continent Libraries are also good cooling centers. Call United Way 2-1-1 for assistance or information about public cooling centers.

Lee’s Summit Road re-opened to through traffic as of Tuesday, July 12, and all detour signage has been removed. Construction will continue along Lee’s Summit Road as the contractor completes phases 3 and 4 of the project. Drivers are reminded to use caution as the corridor is still an active work zone.

The contractor continues to work along the new road installing street lighting, a paved trail, driveways and other detail items to complete the work.  Temporary, moving lane closures will occur at times to allow the contractor to pave the final surface layer and install pavement markings. The project is still anticipated to be completed by December 2016.

For more information about the Lee’s Summit Road Improvement project, contact the City’s Public Works Department at 969-1800 orpublicworks@cityofls.net.
