Keep Cool When It's Hot

Admission fees into Legacy Park, Gamber and Harris Park Community Centers will be reduced to half price on all days the National Weather Service issues Excessive Heat Warnings for the months June, July and August. During business hours, Mid-Continent Libraries are also good cooling centers. Call United Way 2-1-1 for assistance or information about public cooling centers.

Facility Closings in Observance of Memorial Day May 26

Some City Facilities will have Reduced Hours of Operation 

Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St.,  and the Lee’s Summit Municipal Court, 10 NE Tudor, will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.  The following City facilities will be either be closed or have reduced hours of operation as a result of Monday’s holiday:

Mayor and City Council Participate in Retreat

On Thursday, May 8th, the Mayor and City Council participated in a Council retreat facilitated by Ron Holifield, President of SGR.  Retreats provide the Council with an opportunity to build relationships with each other and gain an understanding of perspectives shared by each member.

Congratulations Class of 2014!

Participants in the Citizens Leadership Academy received their "Certificate of Achievement" during the May 1 City Council meeting. The Citizens Leadership Academy is open to Lee's Summit residents who want to gain better insight into the operations of city government and to prepare for greater involvement in the community leadership.
