Lee’s Summit Chamber & City of Lee’s Summit to Host Business Procurement Workshops

The Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce and City of Lee’s Summit have partnered to host two workshops on March 30 giving businesses insight into the City’s procurement process. Workshops are from 10 a.m.-noon and 1:30-3:30 p.m. at City Hall (ITS Training Room 2-150), 220 SE Green St.

Purchasing Department personnel and City staff will be on hand to provide information, tips and tools to assist businesses interested in conducting business with the city of Lee’s Summit. Presentations will include essential information for businesses on participating in the city bidding process.

Tree Limbs and Brush Disposal after Storms on March 6 *Updated 3/9/17*

Update: The Eastern Jackson County Yard Waste Collection Center at 37910 E. Pink Hill Road, Oak Grove, Mo., is offering free yard waste disposal until March 19. Hours have also been extended from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Mon-Fri and 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sat-Sun. Be prepared to show a valid driver’s license as proof of Jackson County residency. Across our community residents are reporting downed tree limbs and brush after the storm that swept through the metropolitan area overnight on Mon., March 6.


The City does not pick up tree limbs or brush unless it rises to the level of a community-wide disaster, such as with the 1984 and 2002 ice storms. While this storm did not reach that level for Lee’s Summit, residents are reminded of private resources for disposing of tree limbs and brush:
