Due to rainy weather forecasted for this weekend, the City of Lee’s Summit’s Stream Team Clean-up event scheduled for Saturday, March 27, will now be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010.
The event will still be held at Charles David Hartman Memorial Park in conjunction with the annual Sweep the Summit event. Volunteers will have the opportunity to choose from cleaning up the park located at 700 SW Pryor Rd., or cleaning up Cedar Creek, which runs adjacent to the park. In addition, we will be planting a tree in the park in support of Arbor Day.
The actual clean-up efforts will begin at 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. at Hartman Park. Prizes will be awarded for the most unique items collected. Volunteers will receive instructions and supplies – maps, gloves, vests, bags, etc.
Keep your fingers crossed for good weather on April 17!
