Staff Engineer

The Staff Engineer works under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager for Water Utilities. This position represents the interests of the Department through interactions with the Public Works Engineering Division, engineering consultants, project related contractors, other water and sewer utilities, and developers. This position is responsible for asset management, coordinating and monitoring capital improvement projects, performing periodic plan reviews, collects and evaluates data regarding the water and wastewater systems, project management, provides engineering support to utility operations, prepares and delivers public presentations and may interact with elected and appointed officials, city staff, utility customers and other interested parties.

Utility Worker
Starting Pay: $27.00 per hour

The Utility Worker performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the routine and emergency maintenance, repair, operation, installation, and inspection, of the City's water distribution system and wastewater conveyance system.
Meter Specialist
Starting Pay: $22.81 per hour

The Meter Specialist, under the general direction of the Metered Services Supervisor, is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and proper operation of bulk water sales meters and equipment, hydrant meters, and department owned backflow devices. Interacts with customers to resolve service-related complaints, ensure the proper placement and operation of sub-meters, and tests water meters as necessary in accordance with AWWA standards. Performs quality assurance and quality control related tasks and assists in training of Metered Services staff as necessary.

Staff Engineer

The Senior Staff Engineer works under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager for Water Utilities.
