An amendment is proposed to the zoning code to reduce or eliminate the distance between a bar/tavern or restaurant serving alcohol and a residential use, when the residential use is in the same district as the bar/tavern.  Public hearings will be held at the Planning Commission on June 25, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, and at the City Council on July 25, 2013 at 6:15 p.m.

A Business & Development Handbook is now available!  This handbook includes a step-by-step guide to locating a business in Lee’s Summit, and summarizes the development review and approval process in a format that is easier to understand than lengthy legal code books.

On March 14, 2013, the City Council adopted Ordinance 7305 approving Downtown Design Standards as an amendment to Article 7 of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).  

Public hearings will be held by the Planning Commission on June 25, 2013, and by the City Council on July 25, 2013 to consider proposed revisions to the sign ordinance.
