Cultural Arts Manager - Administration

Hiring range begins $46,769 to $61,782 annually DOQ plus an excellent benefit package



This position will be responsible for the management, development, and coordination of public cultural art programs including providing administrative support to the Lee’s Summit Arts Council.  The Cultural Arts Manager works with the Creative Services Manager to promote, advertise, and market community art events and programs.  This is a unique opportunity for an individual who has a passion for cultural arts with a focus on improving and enhancing cultural arts within the community.  This is a newly created position who will be asked to coordinate, develop, and implement the cultural arts plan in conjunction with the Lee’s Summit Arts Council.  The ideal candidate will have experience in leading or implementing cultural arts programs and exposure to working with volunteer Boards, Commission, or Councils.  Anticipated start date early December 2017.   



A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, political science, non-profit management, and finance, or similar field is required.  A minimum of three years’ management experience in local government administration or non-profit organizations is required.  Excellent leadership, communication, and public relations skills required.
