From pothole patching in spring, to snow plowing in winter, Public Works provides many of the City's essential programs and services. If you've driven on a City street, used a bike lane, taken trash to the landfill, or watched a plane fly overhead, then you've encountered Public Works.
Public Works is responsible for:
- planning, design, and construction of the City's infrastructure.
- operation and maintenance of the City's stormwater systems, streets and traffic control network.
- oversight, compliance and post-closure of the City's landfill.
- operation of the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport.
- maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of all City vehicles.
