The City has a small crew scheduled to report at 7 p.m. tonight, Fri., Feb. 24, to treat primary streets with salt as needed. Lee’s Summit is expecting patchy light drizzle this afternoon which may come in the form of sleet, with precipitation ending by midnight. Pavement temperatures are expected to drop below freezing this evening, and then rise rapidly Saturday morning. Drivers should use caution this evening and overnight into Saturday especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.
At this time crews are not expected to work full 12 hour shifts, but will be available if needed. The City will continue to monitor the weather and update its response as needed.
