Public Artist Roster

Arts and Culture maintains a Public Artist Roster to select artists for new projects.

The Public Artist Roster will be used for the following:

  • Permanent artwork that can be site responsive and/or site integrated. Artists for these projects would work closely with the project design team to develop public artwork in interior or exterior locations. Artists selected for these projects generally have examples of past work within the public art field.  
  • Temporary artwork that can be site-responsive and created with materials that have a shorter lifespan. Examples of this would be the Downtown Sculpture Walk, Rotating Art Exhibitions and more. 
  • Design-only artwork is site-specific and has a scope in which the artist creates the design for the artwork. The City of Lee's Summit would be responsible for the fabrication with another entity. 
  • Social Practice is an art medium that focuses on engagement through human interaction and social discourse. It can include participatory art and socially engaged art. Past experiences and proposed projects can also be included.

Biographical Statement: Born and raised in Lee's Summit, I am a creative mind with an old soul. I love working hands-on– designing, illustrating, painting, crafting, building, concepting.. you name it! I graduated with a degree in Visual Communications from the University of Kansas and am currently freelancing as well as growing my online retail business, Sift & Serif Design Studio.

Artist's Statement: My passion is bringing joy our community. I love to bring a vision to life and design meaningful, memorable, and one-of-a-kind creation.

Experience Level: 8-10 years

Project Preference: Interior Murals, Digital Design, and Branding

What is your experience in the Public Arts: While my career is rooted in graphic design & marketing, I always had a passion for fine arts. I bridged my career with my passion when I decided to go on my own as a freelance creative in 2023 and have since collaborated on a breadth of interior murals for both KC local businesses and residential clients.

Social Practice Artist: I would love to use my talent to introduce murals and unique design touches that celebrate the businesses and community of Lee's Summit.
