Downtown Sculpture Walk

The City of Lee’s Summit thrives on our arts, culture and heritage. In 2020, the Downtown Sculpture Walk was established to make art accessible to our citizens and visitors. The annual outdoor public art program features vibrant and unique three-dimensional artworks showcased within the public spaces in the downtown area. A jury of community members selects the artworks created by acclaimed public artists from across the country and the region. These artworks are meant to inspire, entertain and educate while providing additional aesthetic elements to the public space. Sculptures are displayed on loan to the City for one year.

Jodie Bliss works primarily in hand forged metals, from mild steel to copper, brass, bronze and stainless.  Her focus is on creating beautiful and compelling artwork through research and development of an idea or concept, design and finally execution.  

The Stairs to Anywhere presents a curious display of magic and mystery. Here is an intricate passageway that inspires the viewer to use their imagination and ask “if this door could open anywhere, where would it lead?” Would it be a place of dreams, personal growth, or real-life adventure?
