Take Time To Be Kind

One Week. Spread Happiness.

February 10-15

Take Time To Be Kind is one week devoted to random and purposeful acts of kindness throughout the Lee's Summit community. Community members, students and businesses are encouraged to participate, perhaps performing a good deed for a friend, neighbor or stranger without expecting anything in return.

Easy Ways to Give the Gift of Kindness

  • Tell someone how much they mean to you. Send a card, text or make a list of how this person brightens your life.
  • Pitch in at home and do an unexpected chore for your parents. Take out the trash, unload the dishwasher or fold laundry.
  • Walk your neighbor's dog.
  • Recognize a coworker for doing a good job. Tell them how much you appreciate them.

The Human Relations Commission will host two activities in the City Hall lobby throughout the week. The public is asked to share their acts of kindness on social media using #LSKindness.

Gratitude Station

Community members are invited to visit the Gratitude Station in the lobby of City Hall during business hours to create cards and signs with thoughtful messages that they can share to spread kindness and appreciation throughout the community.
