The 2026 Charter Review Commission is reviewing the City of Lee's Summit Charter to ensure it meets the City’s needs in areas such as public services, resource efficiency and effective local democracy.
The Charter, much like the U.S. Constitution, serves as the foundation of a home-rule municipality, containing the rules that govern how the City functions, organizes itself, and makes decisions that affect residents’ daily lives.
The Commission would like to hear from you! Please provide your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions regarding potential challenges with current Charter provisions and/or proposed changes or additions.
