 Community Service Hours:

  • Only student and Boy/Girl Scout community service hours are available for all of the activities below. 
  • Court-ordered community service hours are not available at these activities; however, they are available at the City's landfill.

What Environmental Volunteer Opportunities are available?

Electronics Recycling Events

Help with vehicle check-in, traffic direction, or vehicle unloading.  

Paper Shredding Events

Assist patrons with unloading and carrying bags of paper to the mobile paper shredding truck.

Stream Team Events

Collect litter from local stream banks.

Outdoor EcoClassroom

Help install and maintain the gardens.

Drop-Off Recycling Centers

Assist 
patrons with proper sorting of 
recyclable materials.

Adopt-A-Street or Adopt-A-Stream

Agree to collect litter on a quarterly basis from designated Lee's Summit street or stream segments as an individual or a group.
