Household Hazardous Waste

HHW Appointment Information ~ HHW Materials Accepted ~ HHW Calendar ~ HHW Participating Communities


The City's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility is located within the City's Resource Recovery Park, 2101 SE Hamblen Road.  See map.


How to Drop off HHW...

Residents and members of participating communities
must schedule an appointment to properly dispose of up to
100 pounds of their unwanted residential HHW per household per appointment per day at no charge.


 

Residents of non-participating communities will be charged $50 per appointment (only one appointment allowed per day) to drop-off up to 100 pounds of HHW.
Proof of residency (driver's license or utility bill) will be required at the time of the appointment.

 

No more than 100 pounds of HHW will be accepted per appointment, regardless of residency.

NOTE:  One full gallon of paint = 10 pounds


What is Accepted? 

The HHW facility accepts most residential cleaners and hazardous products; however, certain materials cannot be accepted, as identified in this list

Staff reserves the right to refuse any questionable materials.


Appointments...

Appointments are REQUIRED and are available on specific dates of each month, as follows:

1st Saturday of the month (April through November)*
7:00am - Noon
 
3rd Wednesday of the month (year round)*
2:00pm - 6:30pm
On Wednesdays, only LABOP is accepted
LABOP = Light bulbs (fluorescent), Antifreeze, Batteries (rechargeable only), Motor Oil (and other automotive fluids), and Paint products
 
*Unless the date falls on a holiday

  1. Register online or...

  2. Call the HHW hotline at 969-1805.  

              Leave a message with your name and phone number and 
              your call will be returned within 1 business day.
