City of Lee’s Summit City Council Resignation
The City of Lee’s Summit received a formal letter of resignation from City Councilmember Cynda Rader on July 15, 2026, effective immediately. Rader, who represented District 3, emailed her resignation to the City Manager, the City Attorney, and the City Clerk.
Mayor Beto Lopez expressed his appreciation for Rader’s service to the community. “We thank Councilmember Rader for her service to the residents of Lee’s Summit,” said Mayor Lopez.
City Council will follow the process as written in City Ordinance of appointing a qualified citizen to fill the vacancy until the next regular municipal election.
