Dana M. Altieri
The Honorable Dana M. Altieri graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Minor in History. In 2001, she obtained a degree in law from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law. She is also a graduate of the study abroad program at Peking University - Beijing, China, and served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Jay A. Daugherty of the Jackson County Circuit Court at Kansas City, Missouri from April 2001 through June 2003.
Judge Altieri was elected Municipal Judge of the Lee's Summit Municipal Court in April 2010 and was re-elected in 2014. She is a life-long resident of Lee's Summit and attended Lee's Summit High School. She has taught courses to legal professionals and serves as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem, representing abused and neglected children in the Kansas City area. Judge Altieri has prosecuted and defended criminal cases throughout Missouri and Kansas.
Judge Altieri is a member of the Missouri Bar, Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association, Kansas Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Bar Leadership Academy, Eastern Jackson County Bar Association, Federal Court Advocates, The Inn of the Court and Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity (past president).
James M. Tobin
The Honorable James M. Tobin is a graduate of Rockhurst College - B.A., 1971, and the University of Missouri School of Law, J.D. 1976. He holds a commission as Colonel, Judge Advocate General's Corps, United States Army Reserve. He deployed overseas with his Reserve unit January, 2003 and returned from Iraq in February, 2004.
Tobin has served as Municipal Judge in Lee's Summit since October, 1989 and was most recently re-elected in April, 2016. He is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Eastern Jackson County Bar Association, American Judges Association, and is a life member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served as 1995-96 President of the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association. He has also served as part-time instructor at Kansas City Metropolitan Community Colleges.
